Roman Reigns was not seen in WWE for a long time as he stayed at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans did not know when he would return, but it seems it was sooner than anyone would have thought.
During the ending of SummerSlam, where The Fiend defeated Braun Storwman in order to win the Universal Title, something unexpected happened. Roman Reigns came out to attack Wyatt and hit him with a spear.
He then went outside the ring and decimated Braun Strowman with a chair. He could be heard saying things such as he “made Strowman.” He then went back to the ring and hit another spear on Wyatt. Then he held the Universal Title in the air as SummerSlam went off air.
Reigns displayed an edge to him that has not been seen before. According to several reports, it has been said that Vince McMahon “wants Reigns to have an edge to him and what they are doing now with him is what was originally planned for WrestleMania 36.”
It is possible we will see Roman Reigns square off against The Fiend at WWE Payback next week, with the Universal Title on the line.
