Roman Reigns To Face Big Name At Royal Rumble?

WWE’s newest pay-per-view, Day 1 is just a few weeks away. It seems WWE already has some plans on the table about the main event of the following pay-per-view, Royal Rumble. It seems Drew McIntyre’s feud with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss will be wrapping up soon and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will be moving onto a new feud after January 1.

Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2022?

As it was announced on WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Drew McIntyre will be facing Moss at WWE Day 1 on January 1. The match was announced after Corbin made the suggestion for Moss to take the match.

At the recent house shows, McIntyre has been locking horns with the team of Sheamus and Moss. They’ve also been doing six-man tags with McIntyre teaming with various people against The Bloodline and the upcoming house show schedule has McIntyre wrestling more six-man tags. The top matches at the house shows usually strongly indicative of what they have planned for upcoming pay-per-views.

McIntyre is being advertised to team up with The New Day against The Bloodline at the house shows in January, which means that The New Day vs. The Usos feud will likely continue into the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and possibly beyond. It looks like McIntyre vs. Reigns is the next big match.

It is also to be noted that WWE is pushing that McIntyre did not get an opportunity to challenge for the Universal Championship because he was not included in the Black Friday battle royal a couple of weeks ago.

Since Reigns vs. Lesnar is scheduled to happen again at WrestleMania, that would indicate that McIntyre vs. Reigns is probably happening at the Royal Rumble and could also mean that Reigns will retain at WWE Day 1. We will have to see how WWE works out the matches in the coming days.
