Roman Reigns’ unique WWE streak ends at 355 days

Roman Reigns teamed up with his cousin, Jey Uso, for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Unfortunately for them, WWE officials declared Kevin Owens and Otis the winners of the match following Reigns getting disqualified.

While Reigns and Jey Uso were disqualified, The Tribal Chief did not end his assault after the match. He used a steel chair to beat down both Kevin Owens and his cousin brother Jey, to teach a lesson.

The night saw an extraordinary streak come to an end due to the actions of Reigns. The last time that Roman Reigns had officially lost a match, with the exception of the 2020 Royal Rumble, was at WWE TLC 2019 against King Corbin. This SmackDown was the first time that Reigns lost a match since that one, although Owens did not pin him.

It is notable that in between this period, Reigns did not compete in WWE from February 27 to August 30. However, his undefeated streak lasted 15 matches, an impressive tally, given the stature of his usual opponents.

Since returning to WWE at SummerSlam, Reigns has been dominant and has beaten almost everyone that he has come across. With Jey Uso and Paul Heyman, Reigns has seemed an unstoppable force.

Now, heading into WWE TLC, he is faced with the biggest challenge since his return to the roster in the shape of Kevin Owens.
