Ronda Rousey was not seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 back in 2019, where she dropped the RAW Women’s Title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match which also had Charlotte Flair in the mix. Ronda Rousey also showed her backside in a photo with Becky Lynch previously as well.
Since then fans simply did not know whether the Rowdy One would ever return to WWE as they had lost all hope. However, their hope bore fruit in the end.
Rousey, who made her shocking and surprise return to the WWE at the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event earned herself a shot at a WWE Women’s Championship match against the champion of her choosing at WWE WrestleMania 38.
The former RAW Women’s Champion ended up choosing Charlotte Flair as her opponent. She was also unable to defeat Charlotte Flair. She then defeated Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Title at WrestleMania Backlash.
As per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sasha Banks and Naomi were not comfortable working with Bianca Belair and Ronda Rousey.
“While for legal reasons Banks & Naomi haven’t talked, they did make sure to get their message out on Twitter through an intermediary and denied having any issue with working with any of the six women. It appears the WWE statement actually meant Belair and Rousey, but it was misleading.”
