Ronda Rousey Got Big WrestleMania Match Canceled

Ronda Rousey was not seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 back in 2019, where she dropped the RAW Women’s Title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match which also had Charlotte Flair in the mix. Ronda Rousey also showed her backside in a photo with Becky Lynch recently.

Since then fans simply did not know whether the Rowdy One would ever return to WWE as they had lost all hope. However, their hope bore fruit in the end.

Rousey, who made her shocking and surprise return to the WWE at the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event earned herself a shot at a WWE Women’s Championship match against the champion of her choosing at WWE WrestleMania 38. WWE WrestleMania 38 will be held this year at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas from April 2-3.

Rousey ended up choosing Charlotte Flair as her opponent. However, it seems WWE had another huge plan if Ronda Rousey had not returned for WrestleMania 38 this year. According to a report by Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport.com, WWE initially had a different idea for the women’s main event as it would have seen Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Bayley competing at WrestleMania 38 in a Fatal four-way match but that did not end up happening in the end.

“I have been told that in November/early December, a four-way match between WWE’s Four Horsewomen was seriously considered for the main event of Wrestlemania night one. However, plans changed when Ronda Rousey became available.”

In other news regarding Ronda Rousey, 2021 PFL Women’s Lightweight Champion and former roommate of Rousey’s Kayla Harrison recently discussed her relationship with ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’ during a recent interview with ESPN. Credit to BJPenn.com for the following quote.

“No [hasn’t spoken to Ronda]. I think we kind of are like, I don’t think we’re friends anymore, I don’t know. We’re estranged, yes, perfect word. We were roommates, you know, we traveled the world together at one point. She was buying me groceries because I was a poor 16-year-old with like five bucks in my account. At one point I really looked up to her and we were close, we were. So it’s sad.”
