Ronda Rousey nearly severs finger on set of FOX’s 9-1-1

Whilst on the set of FOX’s ‘9-1-1’, former Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey injured her finger pretty badly and actually broke it, which required repair with bolts and screws.

She has released a video to clarify what happened (watch below) and is expected to return to filming early September through to October.

The following was also posted on her Instagram handle:

“So the word is out I nearly lost my finger shooting @911onfox. Freak accident, first take of the day a boat door fell on my hand, I thought I just jammed my fingers so I finished the take before looking (I know it sounds crazy, but I’m used to live audiences and never showing pain unless I’m supposed to) after a break in the action I told our director the situation and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital where they promptly reattached my bone and tendon with a plate and screws. I returned to filming the next day and finished my scenes before returning home to recover. Modern medicine amazes me, I already had 50% range of motion back in 3 days. There’s so much more than I can write here, stayed tuned via @rondarouseydotcom for the full story. And of course tune in to see how well I can act like my finger didn’t just fall off in this upcoming season of @911onfox.”

I was kinda laughing at a YouTube video that was reporting this earlier, going on about what a badass she is for continuing to film.
I completely dislocated a finger to the point in was pointing in the wrong direction when I was about 8 or 9 and on the way to hospital the school secretary pulled out too early and was hit by a car. After going to hospital I returnded to school and still wanted to take part in the school play. It did not make me a badass.
Now the people that go out there in warzones and continue to take on enemy forces when they have been shot etc, those are the badasses.
Or that police officer in the UK last week who was attacked by a guy with a machete, and still took the guy down despite having severe cuts to his head.

Yes it was a serious injury she got, but adrenaline is a very strong drug.
