Ronda Rousey’s WWE deal not completely finalized?

During the 2017 Q4 earnings call, Vince Macmahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H made some questionable comments about the status of Ronda Rousey.

Vince credited Triple H and Stephanie for Rousey’s involvement within the WWE. The chairman was asked if the schedule would be full-time, part-time, or more of an ambassador type role, and this is where things got confusing.

Triple H and Stephanie, who weren’t even advertised for the teleconference, jumped in to answer questions related to Rousey. The couple apparently only chimed in to discuss Rousey and nothing else.

Triple H started first and said they are finalizing plans for Rousey. It’s not clear if he meant creatively or her contract, as he said they’re working out the details on her multi-year deal. He also said that she wants to be “engaged” with the company and make it her life.

Stephanie and Vince added that Rousey fits well with the women’s evolution, and credits the fans for helping make the WWE take the women more seriously. Triple H finished the call, saying that Rousey is motivated by the direction of the women’s division, and wants to use her celebrity to inspire other women to become part of the company.
