WWE’s annual January event has already found its next venue for 2020. The Houston Chronicle has announced that Houston, Texas would host the Royal Rumble next year.
The Chronicle revealed that the event will be held in the Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros of the MLB. WWE’s Executive VP of Special Events John Saboor compared it to Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, where this year’s Rumble was held.
We had a wonderful experience at Chase Field, and that underscored our excitement with the decision to place the 2020 Royal Rumble at Minute Maid Park. We want to expose the WWE brand and its events to as many people as possible, and the size of facilities in which we present our major events is a key catalyst.
Saboor went on to say that they had been working on bringing the Rumble to Houston since the summer of 2018.
