Rusev claims most of the roster feels overlooked

It’s no surprise to anyone that Rusev and Lana feel underutilized in the WWE. In a recent interview with the Express, Lana vented her frustration about her husband’s lack of world championship matches.

I mean, Rusev should get more title opportunities. He should be champion, that’s just the bottom line. He’s been there six years and he’s had one title opportunity (Extreme Rules 2018). I had three. I’m not the Super Athlete, my first singles match was for the title.

Rusev went on to say that it wasn’t just he and Lana that was upset with how they’ve been used on the main roster.

It’s not just us. 99.9% of the roster feels overlooked because we’re all so good and we’re all so passionate. Everybody wants to be champion and everybody can be a champion because we’re that good. It’s just that there’s only so many titles, you gotta find what sticks out.

It doesn’t matter if we hear Rusev Day or Lana Day chants. The most hyped thing doesn’t make you a champion. It’s beyond my head. Only Vince McMahon knows these things.

When it comes to the roster as a whole, we’ve had a peek into the morale of the WWE’s locker room, with several superstars for an exit from the company and venting their frustrations on social media. The Revival, Tyler Breeze, Killian Dain, and more have addressed their issues with the WWE over the past year, and Luke Harper has followed other disgruntled performers, asking for his release from the WWE last month.

Rusev, though, has found himself in an incredibly weak tag team division on SmackDown Live. Teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the two former United States Champions pick up tag team gold on the Blue Brand.
