One of the biggest controversies and talking point about WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event earlier this year was the announcement of Undertaker’s match for the show.
The company first announced Rusev as his opponent and within a span of 48 hours of this revelation; they removed and then re-added the Bulgarian Brute to the bout.
During the latest episode of WWE Ride Along, the former US Champion talked about the incident and revealing the likely reason behind it, he said that he had laughed at Vince McMahon:
Remember when Vince told me I was going to face the Undertaker and I laughed at him. And what I get for it? I got pulled out. And then the prince called, he told me ‘Rusev Day is coming to town, baby!’
It’s entirely possible that this was the reason for his removal though considering that Ride Along is a WWE Network show and they had the chance to edit it out; it’s possible that there is another reason which we may never know.
