The WWE Superstar Shake-Up started this week on RAW and the red brand had 15 new additions. However, Samoa Joe was supposed to be on the show, but he was unable to do so as he was very sick with the flu.
Fightful Select reports that Samoa Joe was sick “to the point of barely functioning” before RAW started airing. That is why he was not used on the show.
It was also reported that Samoa Joe had a segment with Braun Strowman for this week’s RAW, but he was replaced by EC3 in the end due to his illness. So WWE decided to go with Strowman squashing EC3 for this week’s RAW.
WWE also had to re-write most of the show due to travel issues, but Joe was able to make it for work, though he wasn’t used due to being too sick.
