Recently there have been reports of WWE planning a feud between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe for the WWE title and the former NXT Champion has now reacted to these speculations.
During a recent interview with ESPN, Joe was asked about possibly feuding with the WWE Champion in upcoming time after moving to SmackDown Live.
Answering the question, the former TNA Star said that at this point, this rivalry is beyond potential and he claimed that it’s something that’s is going to happen:
“I think at this point it’s beyond potential, and it’s something that’s gonna happen. People talk about the Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn relationship and how they’ll be fighting forever, but in reality when it comes to me and AJ Styles, I defy anybody to find two guys who have been battling against each other longer than us.”
Since Backlash is over now and Samoa Joe is without a rivalry after his loss to Roman Reigns, it’s possible that we can see the start of his feud with Styles as soon as this Tuesday on SmackDown Live.
