On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed the latest in-ring return status for Samoa Joe and how Joe himself actually wants to compete once again in ring. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti’s comments below.
Bhatti: Samoa Joe is cleared to return to the ring and he is trying to get off commentary. WWE like Samoa Joe on commentary so that is an issue that is going to continue to run because Joe would rather wrestle and be involved, whereas WWE are in no particular rush to bring back Samoa Joe. Especially during this WrestleMania season where they don’t have anything on this card for The Fiend, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, King Corbin, among others. There is nothing on the card for a whole load of guys so far.
In other news concerning Samoa Joe, the former two-time NXT Champion admitted on a recent edition of TNA star’s Taylor Wilde’s podcast Wilde On that he still wishes to compete in the squared circle.
Joe stated to Wilde the following: “Right now I’m enjoying commentary on RAW,” he revealed. “It’s been a fun challenge. Obviously, I’m not done in the ring by no means.”
Joe continued: “I think right now I’m exploring things. Aside from that, I’m doing voice acting which is fun and very cool.”
“It’s a very enjoyable thing. I have a project coming up with Warner Brothers. I’m very fortunate and I’m very happy that I’m doing the things I’m doing right now.”
