Sasha Banks could be looking to sit out rest of WWE contract

Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks has been absent from the WWE since WrestleMania 35 when she and Bayley lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to the IIconics. Since then, the company’s commentary teams have mentioned the Boss, but have yet to give the fans any clue as to what’s going on behind the scenes.

It’s been stated multiple times through many sources that both Banks and Bayley were both upset and shocked by the results of their title match at WrestleMania, believing up to the day that they were going to successfully defend their belts and continue to defend them across Raw, SmackDown Live, and NXT.

Last week it was revealed that the former Raw Women’s Champion had been given a few weeks to figure out what she wanted to do. According to Dave Meltzer, though, she’s made up her mind. Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that she plans on sitting out the rest of her contract.

Sasha Banks, the situation is unchanged. They’re right now at a stalemate and the word – of course, you know how this goes – but the word is that if she wants to sit out the rest of her contract she can sit out the rest of her contract. Of course, you know what that means. She’s going to be sitting out forever because they’re going to add time for her not working.

If Banks has indeed decided to sit out as Neville did a few years ago, it could be a while before we see her appear in any promotion. Depending on how much time is left on her deal, it could be years.

    Don’t be a mark.

Sasha screwed Sasha was complete satire….everything else I stand by.

But if as Meltzer says, they have told her she is allowed to sit her contract out then she is not AWOL and has essentially been given permission to not work.
If she out and out refuses to work and they say she has to, then that would incur the penalty of added time.

Some people are literal corporate shills, it’s disgusting

Make that free money Sasha. You don’t gotta do a thing

The issue is she can sue them for being an independent contractor and not actually meeting the standards for an independent contractor by federal law. WWE doesn’t want their contracts reviewed by the feds because they will likely face a major audit and have a number of legal issues if they lose a court case over their contract status. If she looks poised to sue, they may be advised to let her go.

They can freeze her contract after effectively being Awol for so long. They chose to stop that with Neville but doubt Sasha would get same treatment

Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Hey Hey Hey GOOOOOOODBYEEEE!!!!! At least the Men’s Tag Teams are better than yours Sasha, if you know what i mean

“Sasha screwed Sasha”? Sounds like Vince talking. Sasha took a stand but instead of supporting her, you’re going against her. If you feel that way about Sasha then you should keep that same energy for Neville.

“She’s going to be sitting out forever because they’re going to add time for her not working.”
That is not how it works at all. When someone is out injured then WWE has been known to add that time on (Rey Mysterio), but sitting out a contract if agreed with WWE would not result in time being added on, just look at Neville.
Not sure how Meltzer thinks she will basically be forced to be signed to WWE forever from previous experience.

What ridiculous thing to even say. Contracts get suspended for injuries not “sitting out.” Neville/Pak just did that. Dave knows that. If they wanted her to work they would just threaten to sue her for breach of contract. WWE is under no obligation to release her early. Sasha screwed Sasha, I have no sympathy for Sasha.

When does her contract expire end of this year I’m guessing?
