The former TNA star Joey Ryan has been a controversial figure in the pro wrestling business. He had gained popularity on the independent scene, being part of “The World’s Cutest Tag Team” with Candice LeRae. This would lead to Ryan competing in the biggest independent promotions in the world for a time. Recently, it came to light that he was working at Disneyland as a picture surfaced. However, now it turns out he was fired after the allegations of his sexual abuse once again surfaced.
Joey Ryan was fired
His style in the ring was blasted on multiple occasions as it was a sexually oriented gimmick. It revolved around Joey Ryan’s penis. Ryan was blackballed in the pro wrestling industry following the Speaking Out Movement, where many came forward accusing Ryan of sexual assault and harassment.
Joey Ryan attempted to counter sue the victims who came out and accused him of assault, with many of them being thrown out almost immediately in March of 2021. Ryan has always maintained his innocence despite the accusations made against him. Ryan also failed to sue IMPACT Wrestling in a lawsuit also. Ryan has been blackballed in the industry since the accusations were made in 2020, and it appears now he is completely away from the pro wrestling scene now.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Ryan was fired from Disneyland after his superiors got the wind of sexual misconduct allegations. For those not in the know, Ryan was working as a handler on the Jungle Cruise attraction before he got fired.
Disney stated they do background checks on all employees, but missed Ryan’s allegations due to them being made against his stage name. Ryan’s real name is Joseph Ryan Meehan.
“Mr. Meehan is no longer employed by us.”
