Sasha Banks Removed From WrestleMania Match

The former WWE RAW Women’s Champion and self-proclaimed ‘Rowdy One’ Ronda Rousey made her return to the company and immediately chased the WWE SmackDown Women’s title which is held by Charlotte Flair. On recently concluded Night 1 of WrestleMania 38, ‘The Baddest Woman On The Planet’ failed to capture the title. It seems that she might have stolen the spot of another former WWE SmackDown women’s Champion, ‘The Boss’ Sasha Banks, who had been the main event player.

Ronda Rousey might have stolen Sasha Banks’ spot after returning

Noted professional wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio recently spoke about Sasha’s future with the company. He noted that ‘The Boss’ was among the top four female stars besides Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair. But when Ronda Rousey made her comeback, she stole Sasha’s spot in the company. Here is what he said:

“Because Sasha Banks would seem to be the one, you know like when the whole thing started, it was always clear when they put the rosters together for this year. It was Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Bianca Belair as the big programs but then Ronda Rousey came back, so she kinda got that Sasha Banks spot. So Sasha Banks has kinda just been twirling around, waiting, and maybe the tag team thing is where she’s gonna go. You know for house shows.”

Speaking about Sasha Banks, she is set to team up with Naomi. Banks and Naomi were both previously part of Team B.A.D. Banks parted ways with the team in 2016, after which a feud transpired between Banks, Naomi, and Tamina. Banks and Naomi will battle for the Women’s Tag Team Championships against Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan, Natalya & Shayna Bazler, and champions Queen Zelina & Carmella on Night 2 of WrestleMania 38 at the AT& T Stadium.
