Sasha Banks Rumored WrestleMania Opponent Revealed

While WWE have not officially decided on Sasha Banks’ WrestleMania 37 opponent to defend her Smackdown Women’s Title, Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that he thinks it will be Bianca Belair. Christian reportedly has a title match in the works.

“They have not completely decided, so we are still up in the air on that one, but I think it’s gonna be [Bianca Belair vs.] Sasha Banks because it just feels like Sasha Banks because she’s on SmackDown, and it just makes sense. I mean, it could be Asuka. I’m not sure what they’re doing with Asuka. They might be going with Charlotte Flair, but Charlotte Flair’s big program is with Lacey Evans.”

WWE originally planned to have Edge vs. Randy Orton in an I Quit Match at WrestleMania 37, according to Meltzer.

“They were going to do an I Quit match at WrestleMania and Edge, in fact, got this idea of coming back and winning the Royal Rumble and maybe winning the championship and they had to get past the Randy Orton thing, and this is how they did it.”

Orton vs. Edge main evented Raw, with interference from Alexa Bliss distracting Orton, leading to Edge hitting a spear for the victory. Edge is scheduled to appear on Smackdown on Friday, where he will meet his likely WrestleMania opponent Roman Reigns for the first time. Ringside News transcribed Meltzer’s comments.
