Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has been on a roll since she defeated her long-time rival Bayley for the title last year. Since then, Banks has competed in a series of high-profile matches and arguably is on one of the best runs of her career.
The Smackdown Women’s Champion recently made an appearance on Broken Skull Sessions. During the podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin asked Sasha Banks what Ronda Rousey had done for women’s wrestling in general.
After being puzzled by Austin’s question, the Texas Rattlesnake further elaborated his question, where he asked Banks if she thinks Ronda Rousey managed to get as many fans outside of pro wrestling interested in the product, along the same line as Mike Tyson did during the Attitude Era.
Here is what Sasha Banks said in reply:
“You can bring in Ronda Rousey, but you should be paying me for doing what she’s doing. You have the talent here, I’ve put in the work. But, Ronda Rousey is a household legend and name to her own. If it wasn’t for Ronda Rousey, who knows if the women’s division here would be women’s wrestling. She put in the work. She loved it. She came into the locker room very humbled and wanting to know everything that she could to be the best.”
