Sasha Banks defended her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair on Night One of WrestleMania 37, in its main event. It was a historic match as the two competitors gave it their all including the kitchen sink in order to win the match. Ultimately, it was Bianca Belair who emerged victorious in the title match and became the new Smackdown Women’s Champion in the process. The two also had a genuine moment where they shed tears in the ring. A major WWE match for Sasha Banks was also cancelled recently.
Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair recently spoke to Sports Illustrated and talked about her WrestleMania match against Sasha Banks.
“We made history. And I’m fully expecting a rematch. “That moment was bigger than us. Even though I won the title, no one lost that night. That’s why there are videos of Sasha smiling at the end. She had so much fulfilment from what came out of that match. Now, when she comes back and the title is on the line, we’ll see who walks out as champion.
“Everyone is part of this,” Belair stressed. “It’s more than just me, and this is my chance to share it. I’ve found myself very vulnerable in some of my moments, but that’s because I’m opening up to invite people to come on this journey. When I hold the title up in the air, I want everyone to know this is theirs, too.”
