Scott Steiner Rips WWE’s Current Product, Talks About Not Getting To Feud with The Rock, More

    Scott is right.

PG has made WWE a joke.

I disagree with that. John Cena is THE man and has been the man for 10 solid years. That’s longer than Hogan, longer than Austin, and certainly longer than The Rock. The only guys that can claim to have been THE man longer than Cena for a longer stretch of time in one federation are Ric Flair and Bruno Sammartino. Pretty good company.

Triple H on the other hand was the man, NEXT TO the man. He’s never had to carry the company on his back as THE franchise. In the New Generation era it was all about Bret and HBK. In the Attitude era he rode the coat-tails of Austin and Rock. Both those guys were over before they feuded with Triple H. He need those guys to get over. In the Ruthless Aggression era he was handed the keys by default because the guy that was supposed to be the “next big thing” decided to take a powder. However that was only a hold over until Cena was ready who also got over WITHOUT Triple H.

Cena got over feuding against second-tier main-eventers (when I say second-tier in this context I mean guys were were champions and are current/future hall of famers but were never “the guy” in the company) like Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and The Big Show. I don’t think Cena was anything like Triple H.

However, if you are saying Triple H was Cena before Cena was Cena from the standpoint of holding the WWE title hostage and always hanging around the title picture then yes, I agree.

HHH at his best, Evolution HHH.

I agree. He had a cool debut at SvS but I have always thought his mic worked lacked a little. Triple H had amazing matches, but he was Cena before Cena was Cena lol, Hunter always had the WHC or was always in the picture and that ruined Goldberg and many others.

I don’t think this can be considered “rips the current WWE product”, I’ve heard a lot worse coming from people.

The WCW guys were brought in for one reason, to put over HHH. At that time period, HHH would go on T.V. and talk about how he beat everyone and would actually name everyone he beat. They were going hard with he was the greatest of all time and had the record to prove it. Once they were done with him beating people, creative had nothing for those guys to do.

Not an uncommon occurrence but his debut stunk because of his mic work so maybe there was no vested interest by management as far as long term main event status like the Rock. Also Goldberg hasn’t received 100% support from the fans. I always thought the WWE guys were the ones I looked foward to watching the most anyways, WCW guys were good but there to make PPV bookings seem interesting for the wrestling community. Booker T was the best…. Suckaaaaa!
