Senators urge WWE to put a pause on upcoming Crown Jewel event

At the time when Saudi Arabia is being criticized all over the world over the missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi, WWE has found themselves in hot water too because of their ten years long partnership with the Kingdom and the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV.

We noted before how WWE released a statement on the matter saying that they are monitoring the situation, but it looks like the company may be forced to take some solid action soon.

So far the company was only being criticized by fans but a new article published on IJR has on record comments from senators, urging the company to put a pause on the show:

“Private enterprise is private enterprise, different than a governmental entity,” Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) told IJR, “but because [Linda McMahon] is part of the president’s cabinet, it falls into the grey area where the administration really should give it some thought and maybe even prevail upon them not doing it.”

“There should be a pause, I want a complete rethinking of our relationship,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told IJR concerning WWE’s business dealings with the kingdom.

Now it’d be interesting to see how WWE responds to these comments and if they actually end up taking some serious action on their upcoming show.
