In less than 12 hours time, Seth Rollins will be challenging for the WWE Championship, as he prepares for a clash against Drew McIntyre at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
In the lead-up to the event, Rollins sat down for an interview with talkSPORT and opened up regarding his infamous Hell in a Cell Match against ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt from last year’s pay-per-view. The match, of course, ended via ref stoppage after Rollin hit Wyatt with the sledgehammer and walked out with his Universal Championship.
The conclusion to the bout certainly didn’t sit well with the WWE Universe, who heavily criticized both the contest and Rollins, and looking back on it, ‘The Messiah’ has claimed that he was put in a situation of being the “scapegoat”.
“At the end of the day, there’s no real nice way to put it, I was dead in the water after Hell in a Cell. And a lot of that was nothing that I could control. I was left out there as a bit of a scapegoat in that situation and there was nothing I could do about it, but I was the one that had to face the scrutiny. And no one really cared about me at that point in time, or about how I was feeling or about what really went into that moment, that night and everything that went along with it.”
Rollins eventually went on to lose his Universal Title to Wyatt in Saudi Arabia, however, tonight in Orlando, Florida, ‘The Messiah’ will have another opportunity to win the world title in WWE.
