Seth Rollins Return Bombs In Smackdown Ratings

Seth Rollins returned to WWE Smackdown last night, and sadly the ratings were the worst of the Thunderdome era. SmackDown drew an average of 1.8835 million viewers with a .5 in the 18-49 demographic. The first hour drew 1.905 million viewers and the second hour, featuring Rollins’ return, drew 1.862 million viewers.

This week’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw might of had a marquee matchup with ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton taking on current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre as it’s main event but it certainly didn’t show in the ratings as this week’s edition of Raw drew an average of 1.715 million viewers on the USA Network. However, this is down significantly from the 1.892 million viewers that the show averaged a week ago. Edge revealed recently why his WrestleMania 36 match against Randy Orton was hard for him

Professional wrestling journalist and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer took to social media via Twitter to document the ratings pattern that transpired with this week’s edition of Raw.

Last night’s Raw had a very unique ratings pattern. Male viewers and over 50 held up well, and teens grew during the show at a remarkable rate. But women 12-49 collapsed, 18-49 like no week I can recall. The third hour, it was women tuning out that was story.

Meanwhile, Bryan Alvarez of the Figure Four Weekly documented that the particular hour with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre as well as the now infamous tables match featuring Lana and Nia Jax did especially poor numbers as he tweeted out the following. “The hour with the Nia vs. Lana tables match and Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton did 1.589 million with zero competition.” With a follow up tweet of: “RAW IS HOLE: 1.715 million” This Randy Orton death storyline featuring Bray Wyatt leaked not too long ago.
