When Vince McMahon introduced the wild card rule, he announced that three stars from each brand will be allowed to appear on both the WWE shows but these rules haven’t been followed very strictly.
Fans have been critical of the fact that we have seen dozens of people taking advantage of this rule and it appears that former Universal Champion Seth Rollins is one of them.
Rollins recently had an interview with Newsweek.com and while talking about the new rule, he said that it has really muddled things up and he is not a fan of that:
The Wild Card really muddled things up, to be honest with you. Now you’re seeing those guys every single week. It used to feel special when I see the New Day but now they’re eating pancakes backstage every chance they get on Monday and I’m not a fan of that.
Though continuing on the topic, Rollins also said that we can expect things to tighten up when SmackDown moves to Fox and hinted that after that we’ll only see some best wild card options appearing on both shows.
