Several NXT superstars’ names changed

As is usually the case when indie talents are brought over to NXT, their names get changed. It has happened to the likes of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and the list goes on. Now several NXT superstars have gotten their names changed again.

As reported by PW Insider, five NXT superstars now have different names. The most notable name is former IMPACT Wrestling star Trevor Lee, who will now go by Cameron Grimes.

Apart from Lee, other changes in name include Eric Bugenhagen as Rik Bugez, Luke Menzies as Ridge Holland, Jessie Elaban as Jessi Kamea, and Adrian Jaoude is now Arturo Ruas.

Dumb names have been WWE’s stock in trade for years. Dolph Ziggler was one of the worst and yet he got over. Braun Strowman (Brawny Strongman for all intents and purposes) is not much better. Hell, even Finn Balor is an awful name. Sami Zayn?

That said, pretty much all of those names are terrible. I mean, who would ever call their kid “Ridge”?

No one named Rik Bugez or Cameron Grimes will ever get over. Just ask Eli Cottonwood, Michael McGuilicuty, and Husky Harris.
