Brock Lesnar recently pulled off a double duty at Royal Rumble premium live event. Lesnar was unsuccessful in defending WWE title against Bobby Lashley in what many considered to be a dream fight. But, Lesnar stole the show at the show in St. Louis, Missouri at The Dome at America’s Center. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ went on to enter the last night’s 30-Man Royal Rumble Match in the No.30 spot and eventually emerged victorious in the contest. He eliminated Drew McIntyre last to book his spot in WrestleMania’s main event. Previously, it was noted that Lesnar’s Royal Rumble win led to emergency.
WWE had planned different spots for Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre
Lesnar is set to have a big Universal Title match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. There is a reason why Lesnar looked so strong in St. Louis, because he wanted it that way.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s Royal Rumble event and how Lesnar looked. It was said that the former WWE Champion wanted to look the strongest possible to prepare him for his eventual clash with Roman Reigns.
“The deal with the Rumble was for Brock to murder everyone and that was probably Brock’s call. It was said to me that Brock was gonna get exactly what he wanted, and that was to look as strong as possible for the Roman Reigns match, but the idea was to give Drew, like everyone was supposed to get murdered by him, and they did, but they were going to do stuff with Drew. They did one thing with Drew, but they were running low on time and they had to rush to get off the air.”
We will have to see what Lesnar has in store for the fans when he makes an appearance at Friday Night SmackDown.
