Shane McMahon Meets With Next U.S. President?

Shane McMahon posted a photo today with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is considered one of the frontrunners for the 2024 Republican President nomination in the United States. DeSantis allowed WWE and AEW to run shows during the 2020 pandemic shutdowns, which helped keep AEW in business.

The pro-wrestling fans were shocked to hear the reports of Cesaro leaving WWE upon contract expiry and he did not ink a fresh deal with the company. He has been regarded as one of the best in-ring performers but was underutilized in the company.

WWE reportedly decided to let go Cesaro

Many have been speculating that it was the former WWE United States Champion who had the major say on his departure. But, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cesaro leaving the company was more of a WWE decision. It is understood as WWE decided to keep the stars like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and AJ Styles. They were also in a similar situation to that of ‘The Swiss Cyborg’. WWE made him an offer he simply didn’t like in the end.

“This was more of a WWE decision than a Cesaro decision in the sense he wasn’t looking to leave like others were, but they made an offer he didn’t like. He is free to go anywhere immediately. They didn’t offer him a huge deal like Owens and Zayn and Styles to stay.”

Cesaro signed with WWE in 2011 after a successful run on the indies and ROH. He departed WWE as a five-time RAW/WWE Tag Team Champion, a two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion, and the one-time WWE United States Champion. He also won the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

There has been no update on if Cesaro will be moving to AEW, Impact Wrestling, or NJPW. We will have to wait and see what is next for him in the pro-wrestling industry.

The professional wrestling and sports entertainment world have been reacting to the news of the former Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner’s departure from the WWE. Former WWE superstar and ECW original The Blue Meanie took to social media via Twitter to proclaim the following remarks:

“Cesaro has to be one of WWE’s biggest misses when it comes to capitalizing on his talents. He should have been a multi-time WWE World Champion by now.”
