Shane McMahon to replace Bruce Prichard as the head of WWE RAW

It is an open secret that Vince McMahon has been looking for ways to improve WWE RAW ratings recently. It seems like he is considering his son, Shane McMahon to bring about the necessary changes.

According to a report by Alex McCarthy of Sportskeeda, Shane McMahon might soon be the new head of RAW.

Paul Heyman was removed as the Executive Director of the brand around two months ago. Bruce Prichard has been leading the consolidated creative teams for RAW and SmackDown ever since.

But Prichard reportedly wants to cut short his working hours and lighten the current workload. That is where Shane comes in.

“One source in WWE has told me Shane is being considered to take RAW off Bruce Prichard’s hands leaving him to concentrate on SmackDown. Other sources that I’ve posed this information couldn’t give concrete confirmation, though judging by work behind the scenes, they can believe it. Another layer to the story is Prichard making no secret about the fact he’d like to lighten his workload and he’s been struggling with the long hours.”

Shane was last seen on WWE television last year when he lost to Kevin Owens on SmackDown’s debut night on FOX. He has been involved in the backstage with the creative team ever since. Shane played a crucial role in putting together the men’s Royal Rumble this year along with Heyman. He has also been present in the Gorilla Position at main roster shows with his father as well.

Shane recently returned to television as the brain behind a new and grittier show on Monday nights called RAW Underground.
