Rumors: Shane McMahon could turn heel at WrestleMania

Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan

While the in-ring return of Daniel Bryan is already a big event, if some latest speculations are to be believed, then the company might be planning something more for his match at the Show Of Shows.

Daniel Bryan will be teaming up with Shane McMahon to face the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at the show with the stipulation being that KO and Zayn will be rehired if they won.

And if rumors from Cagesideseats are to be believed, then the company might be planning for Shane’O Mac to turn on his partner while also transitioning into a heel in the process.

The heel turn makes sense as the company has previously teased tension between the SmackDown General Manager and Commissioner and this would be the perfect pay off.

Not only that, but it could work as a catalyst for a Authority Figure vs Underdog storyline between the two, something which got Bryan so over with the crowd in the first place.

Personally I think either turning heel would be a mistake right now.
Zayn/Owens should lose and end up being picked up by RAW, which seems the most likely outcome considering they have been saying “fired from SD” not “fired from WWE”.

Making either Shane or Bryan turn heel at a point where Bryan will be more than likely transitioning away from GM role, just seems silly.
And having both shows have a heel McMahon as a commissioner just seems ridiculous and will make SD look like copycats (heel McMahon commissioner with a former/part time wrestler as a face GM).

If Shane is going to turn heel, it needs to be after he appoints a replacement for Bryan. Unless he fires Bryan as commissioner (and if it was that easy, then surely Steph would have fired Angle due to his recent actions) and we get a Bryan/Shane feud, but that will be a waste. As nobody needs to see yet another “talented wrestler vs authority” gimmick so straight after the one with Zayn/Owens.

It’s the only “good” excuse for them to lose to Owens/Zayn.

I’d rather have DB turn tbh and head a faction of himself, KO and Zayn, possibly adding another underused guy to it.

  • Keith Learmonth

It’d make more sense than trying to turn Daniel.

  • Predictable

I don’t know if it will happen at the show, but I fully expect Shane and Bryan to lose and it to be the start of a program where we get Bryan vs Shane at SummerSlam. It may be predictable, but it’s the story that makes sense.

We don’t need to get him over anymore, no one is more over than him.

Waste. Kind of predictable, but would be a waste of Brian’s first feud back
