Shaq has been very busy in the wrestling world this week! On Wednesday, Cody Rhodes laid out a challenge to Shaquille O’Neal and his friend Jade Cargill with Red Velvet on AEW Dynamite on TNT.
Yesterday, Shaq announced a challenge to WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, The Miz, and Tim Tebow for a show he is hosting Super Bowl weekend.
Shaq tweeted, “I’ve put together a series of challenges to test our celebrities at The SHAQ Bowl! @diplo @ezekielelliott @oliviaculpo @Nelly_Mo @TimTebow @winnieharlow @mikethemiz @QuavoStuntin @steveo @Anthonyanderson @DMcIntyreWWE Who will step up to win The SHAQ Bowl Trophy?!” McIntyre responded with an eyes bugging out emoji.
Last night on Inside the NBA on TNT, Shaq buried Cody Rhodes. Wrestling-Edge transcribed his comments.
“I tell you what cupcake Cody Rhodes, I say I’m gonna beat you like I almost beat Chuck [Charles Barkley]. Remember when I gave Chuck the left and he flinched? That’s how I’m going to beat you. Name the place.”
He then asked his co-hosts of he should wrestle Cody. He asked, “You want me to do it?” Shaq’s co-hosts agreed. Shaq then proclaimed, “It’s done. I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna wrestle Cody Rhodes.” The Shaq and Jade Cargill vs. Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet match is reportedly set for the AEW Revolution PPV on March 7th.
Shaq also said on a Shaq Bowl media call, “No. But there’s this guy from AEW that’s been talking noise. Guy by the name of Cody Rhodes,” O’Neal said. “So he has one more thing to say to me before I jump in the ring and beat him up. So Cody, if you’re listening to this, keep your mouth shut or else.”
Cody Rhodes has become one of WarnerMedia’s fastest rising stars, with huge ratings success on the Go Big Show on TBS.
