NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has played for six franchises during his legendary NBA career that spanned 20 years.The Los Angeles Lakers legend has been one of the most successful basketball players ever to play the game. He broke several records and earned numerous accolades cementing himself as one of the game’s legends. It has been noted that Shaq had a tough childhood growing up which involved moving around quite a bit. It seems that this left a massive impact on him as a young boy.
Shaquille O’Neal admits being a bully
Shaq expressed his emotions by being a violent bully. Here is what he revealed in a recent issue of PEOPLE:
“Every time I went to a place, I made my name quickly,” “I’d find out who ‘the guy’ was, study him, and I’d beat him up. Take his spot. Everybody knew who I was.
“I almost killed a kid. They showed me the jail. I shifted everything into becoming the class clown. Just to make people like me. It was [another] mechanism for [dealing with my insecurity]. I wasn’t a leader yet. I was a follower on the wrong path.”
Shaq always had the size advantage among the kids and no one could stand up to him even if they wanted to. He used his strength to his benefit, and this almost ruined his life permanently.
