Shawn Michaels reveals original plans for his retirement

Shawn Michaels had an iconic retirement match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 where the Dead Man put an end to the legendary career of the Heartbreak kid.

However, during a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Mr WrestleMania talked about his retirement and revealed that the original plans for it were different.

According to Michaels, he was originally supposed to have a retirement tour after WrestleMania where he would have one final match in all the major cities but the reaction to the bout made them change their mind:

“After that match, myself and Taker and Michael Hayes were doing what we did the year before too, sitting in a room by ourselves with a shot of Jack Daniels, I told them, ‘You know what? That might be the one to end it all. I don’t think I’m going to do that other thing.’ And Michael said, ‘I agree.’ And so I just sort of decided right there that was going to be it.”

Shawn Michaels did eventually came out of retirement for one more match but it was for the Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia where he teamed up with Triple H to face the Brothers of Destruction for one last time.
