AEW has grown considerably since its inception last year and it has become a serious option for talents who are considering leaving WWE for various reasons.
However, this wasn’t the case around the same time last year and the talents who had decided to leave WWE were taking a big risk of never getting featured on the same level again.
One such star who took the risk was Shawn Spears and during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, the former WWE stars recalled how he was ‘petrified’ to leave WWE:
But I’ll be honest with you; I was scared that it wouldn’t. I was petrified to leave. That was the only place I wanted to be since I was a kid. And then you’re making really good money, and your wife works there, and you’re sitting there going ‘Am I doing the right thing?’ You question yourself a million times.
At the end, it seems like things worked out pretty well for Spears as he has not only became one of the prominent faces of AEW but has started his wrestling school as well. You can check out his full interview in the video below:
