Sherri Shepherd Reveals Jamie Foxx ‘Needs Prayers’

During an episode of “Sherri,” actress and comedian Sherri Shepherd reminisced about her time working with Jamie Foxx on “The Jamie Foxx Show” and shared a heartfelt message, calling on the audience to keep Foxx in their prayers as he recovers from an undisclosed medical complication.

Shepherd fondly recalled her experience on the show, describing it as a dream come true. Initially, her role was intended to be a one-time appearance, but Shepherd was determined to continue working with Foxx. She shared a humorous anecdote about catching Foxx’s attention during a scene by playfully placing his hand on her thigh and making him laugh. This led to her character being brought back repeatedly, as Foxx enjoyed her comedic presence on set.

Expressing her desire for a reunion of the entire cast, Shepherd emphasized the joy and fun she had while working on “The Jamie Foxx Show.” She then urged viewers and audience members to keep Foxx in their prayers, noting that he still has much more to accomplish.

“The role they had written for me, was only supposed to be one time,” Shepard explained. “And I was like, Jamie just gives you a good time, he makes everyone laugh and it was such a great set I said, “I want to come back on this show.” So, they happened to put me next to Jamie and I only had one line, and I said, ‘what can I do to get Jamie’s attention?’ So, as he was talking, I put his hand on my thigh.

He looked at my hand and he put it on my thigh. And I said, “what else can I do?” Then I leaned up in his neck and I sniffed as he was talking, and it made Jamie laugh. The thing about Foxx is if you make him laugh he keeps you around. So, he kept laughing. I made everybody on the cast and crew laugh, because I didn’t say anything, and I just decided to take a risk. And then Jamie kept bringing me back.”

Jamie Foxx, 55, was hospitalized on April 12 due to a medical complication, as his family vaguely stated at the time. Prior to his hospitalization, Foxx was filming for Netflix’s “Back in Action” in Atlanta. On May 3, sources close to Foxx requested prayers for his well-being. Foxx’s daughter confirmed on May 12 that he had returned home and had been in recovery for weeks. The exact details of Foxx’s medical issue have not been disclosed publicly.

As fans and supporters of Jamie Foxx eagerly await updates on his condition, the entertainment community remains united in sending prayers and positive thoughts his way, hoping for his swift recovery. That said, a heartbreaking rumor about Jamie Foxx’s heart attack was leaked recently.
