There was some good news for Officials this week as the SmackDown episode featuring the Gauntlet match in the main event saw an increase in audience for the second week in the row.
The episode which saw Rusev earning his first ever one on one WWE Championship opportunity averaged 2.315 million viewers which was up 6% from last week.
This was the highest number the Blue Branded Show did since the May 1st edition of the show and it was up from last week’s 2.18 million viewers.
Though it’s worth mentioning here that the audience was down 8% when it comes to the year over year record and it was only able to retain 80% of the Raw audience from the previous night.
For those who don’t know, Rusev won a #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match on SmackDown this week and he will now challenge AJ Styles for his WWE Championship at the Extreme Rules PPV.
