SmackDown Live lands huge main event next week, The Rock comments on calling CM Punk

– During last night’s (Tues. February 21, 2017) episode of WWE SmackDown Live a Battle Royal was held to determine who the No. 1-contender for Bray Wyatt’s WWE Championship would be after Randy Orton refused to fight his fellow Wyatt Family member at Wrestlemania; an opportunity he earned after winning the Royal Rumble last month.

 


 

The Battle Royal last night ended with both Luke Harper and AJ Styles being eliminated at the same time. SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan announced the two will meet in a match next week to determine who the new No. 1-contender will me.

– As we previously noted, The Rock hit the ring after this past Monday’s (February 20, 2017) episode of Monday Night RAW and announced to the crowd that filming for the upcoming movie based on Paige would be taking place. The match being filmed was based on Paige defeating AJ Lee for the Diva’s Title, sparking a CM Punk chant.

Rock then called Punk on his phone in the middle of the ring and left him a voicemail along with the entire crowd. This didn’t sit well with Triple H or Vince McMahon backstage, but Rock took to Twitter earlier today to explain his actions:
