Smackdown Live match cancelled after a superstar’s “injury”

Andrade “Cien” Almas has already made an enemy on the Smackdown Live roster in his former friend Sin Cara.

In a backstage segment on the May 29 edition of Smackdown Live, Almas blew off the superstar who was trying to catch up with him. As he attempted to talk to Almas, Sin Cara was interrupted, and berated, by Zelina Vega, who said that the Luchador doesn’t deserve to speak with someone like Almas.

Almas would suddenly attack the former Lucha Dragon the next week, setting up a match on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. However, it seems that we won’t be seeing the two lucha stars face off tonight, as it seems that Sin Cara has injured his shoulder. The WWE issued an official statement earlier today on the situation.

Sin Cara is not cleared for competition this week, WWE.com has learned.

The masked man was originally scheduled to face his former friend, Andrade “Cien” Almas, tonight on SmackDown LIVE, but due to a shoulder injury suffered when Almas attacked him last Tuesday, Sin Cara will not be able to do battle.

Check back with WWE.com for more on Sin Cara’s status as it becomes available.

It’s important to know that he has wrestled Almas on house shows recently, so this is more than likely a storyline building moment. Expect to see the two face off in a few weeks, or at the PPV before Summerslam.
