SmackDown Live on the upswing with more viewers returning post TLC

Prior to WWE TLC, SmackDown Live was struggling to bring in big numbers. Just like Monday Night Raw, the previous weeks saw plummeting ratings for the Blue Brand. However, fans seemed ready to give SmackDown another shot post-TLC and the “reset” set up by the McMahon family.

This week’s show drew 2.214 million viewers, up a whole 12% from last week’s 1.977 million. Whether it was Asuka’s win at Sunday’s PPV or promises of change from Vince McMahon himself, the WWE Universe seemed to respond well. It’s also worth noting that we’re heading into the Road to WrestleMania, where ratings always shoot back up.

Could this be the big turnaround that the WWE was hoping for? It’s just one week of ratings, but this is definitely a good start on the path to getting back the fans that changed the channel a few weeks ago.
