Calvin Broadus, the artist’s real name, shared this decision with his massive following of 82.5 million on the social media platform, stating, “After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke.” He also requested privacy during this period.
This declaration may catch some fans off guard as Snoop Dogg has been consistently open about his affection for cannabis. Notably, he claimed to have indulged in smoking weed even within the confines of the White House. The rapper has delved into various business ventures related to marijuana, showcasing a deep involvement in the industry. Among his initiatives is “Merry Jane,” a pot-focused media company, and a line of cannabis products.
Additionally, Snoop Dogg has ventured into the investment side of the marijuana sector by putting his money into Casa Verde Capital, a venture capital firm specializing in funding marijuana start-ups.
The rapper’s devotion to weed has been a recurring theme in the media. In 2019, he disclosed having a full-time staffer dedicated solely to the task of rolling his blunts. Furthermore, during a Reddit session in 2021, he revealed a staggering number – 81 smoke breaks a day.
