The recent episode of SmackDown culminated with a surprise backstage attack on Roman Reigns just as he was about to issue an open challenge for Summerslam. The one responsible for the attack would naturally be Reigns’ opponent for the event.

According to Dave Meltzer, the WWE plans on booking Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan for the show. With Bryan being the only major star in the blue brand without a match under his belt, the match looks a possibility.
The WWE have been teasing for weeks regarding Bryan’s “career-altering” announcement which is yet to happen. The next episode of SmackDown might just see Bryan proclaiming something huge.
