One of the most surprising things coming out of this week’s episode of Raw was Alexa Bliss losing to Asuka in a one on one match fair and square without any prior buildup.
The whole thing became more interesting as it was stretched through three different segments during the show and it felt like this is the start of a new storyline.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed this match and speculated that WWE could be planning to put the title on Asuka.
Meltzer further speculated that this title change can take place before the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV. Then it would make sense for Bliss to invoke her rematch clause at the event itself.
Though Dave didn’t clearly state that the championship change will indeed take place and it should become clearer whether or not the company is planning a title change in upcoming weeks.
