WWE taped the Christmas episode of SmackDown in advance on Tuesday and the main event of the show featured a big title change.
The show featured matches such as Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship and Asuka & Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair for the women’s tag team title.
The main event of the special episode was a lumberjack match between Sami Zayn and Big E for Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship.
The match saw the champion trying to escape the bout but the babyface lumberjacks brought him back in the ring. Big E then hit Sami Zayn with the Big Ending to win the bout and the title.
This is Big E’s second reign with the Intercontinental Championship. His first run with the belt came in 2013 where he had defeated Curtis Axel for the title.
