WWE invaded Washington, DC at the Verizon Center on Tuesday night for the Main Event and SmackDown TV tapings. Here are the spoilers for this week’s episode of SmackDown:
– WWE announces that Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus and Kevin Owens will be the main event of the show.
– The New Day opens the show and cuts a New Year’s Eve promo. They are interrupted by The Dudley Boyz and Kalisto, which set up a match.
– Six-Man Tag Team Match: Kalisto and The Dudley Boyz defeated The New Day.
– Singles Match: Tyler Breeze defeated Goldust by pinfall.
– Tag Team Match: Luke Harper and Braun Strowman defeated The Usos.
– Tag Team Match: Brie Bella and Alicia Fox defeated Naomi and Tamina Snuka.
– Singles Match: Dolph Ziggler defeated Bo Dallas.
– Tag Team Match: Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose defeated Sheamus and Kevin Owens when the match ends in a DQ after the two teams got into a brawl.
Post-match, Reigns stopped Owens from power bombing him through the announce table and hit him with a Superman punch. Reigns and Ambrose stood tall in the ring.
