Stephanie McMahon ‘Slapped’ Fired WWE Name

Stephanie McMahon is WWE’s Chief Brand Officer, and Triple H is currently the COO of WWE and he is also a veteran in the world of professional wrestling, having competed in several great matches and countless memorable moments during his time as an active in-ring competitor in the company. Stephanie McMahon also recently spoke to a fired WWE NXT Superstar.

Tom Phillips is a former WWE commentator who worked in the company from 2012 till May of this year. He finally broke his silence on his WWE release as he spoke on the Sports Media Podcast with Richard Deitsch. During the conversation, Tom Phillips talked about the time Stephanie McMahon slapped him many times for real.

“I never took a conventional bump in the ring but there was one,” Phillips recalled. “I think it was before Christmas in 2015, I think it was the Slammys, which was also coinciding with RAW, and Stephanie McMahon just slapped me, for lack of a better term. But yeah, knew about it and everything. It was so much fun.

“It seems weird but Corey Graves [Phillips’ fellow commentator] standing right off camera at the time and just staring at me like a big brother being like, ‘Yeah, this is gonna be fun.’ It’s a rite of passage. It was great.”
