Taz reacts to backlash from AEW fans after stopping Fight for the Fallen main event

Taz issued a statement on Thursday to comment on his decision to throw in the towel during the AEW World Heavyweight Championship main event between Jon Moxley and FTW Champion “The Machine” Brian Cage at AEW Fight For The Fallen on Wednesday night.

“The Human Suplex Machine” took to his official Twitter feed to address the reaction to his decision to throw in his famous little orange towel in order to have the Cage-Moxley match stopped when he realized “The Machine” was refusing to tap out at AEW Fight For The Fallen despite Mox catching him in an arm-lock on his surgically repaired biceps.

“Some of you DO understand why I did what I did during the AEW World Title match between Jon Moxley [and] Brian Cage…but for those who are mad about it, understand this,” wrote Taz. “I would do the exact same thing in that same situation again. #AEWDynamite #FightForTheFallen.”

For those who missed it, AEW released footage that picks up with the moments leading up to Taz throwing in the towel, effectively ending the Fight for the Fallen main event, via the official AEW on TNT Twitter feed.

Also released is footage that starts right after the match ends, picking up during the post-match attack from Cage that led to the return of Darby Allin after “The Machine” put him on the sidelines several weeks ago.
