Chris Jericho made his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling earlier this week, going after Tetsuya Naito. This was the second time Y2J had gone after him as Jericho ended his prior run with the company attacking Naito at New Year Dash.
After Los Ingobernables de Japon defeated Suzuki Gun in a ten-man tag match, Jericho, who was dressed as a fan, beat down Naito, forcing him back into the ring. The crowd erupted when Jericho, eventually, removed his mask.
Naito was left in a bloody heap after Jericho bashed the ring bell off of his head. The leader of LIJ made a statement after the event, stating:
That was quite the statement to send to Tetsuya Naito…
Well, I don’t know too much about him. He’s one of the most famous wrestlers in the world, huh? I guess one of the most famous wrestlers in the world can’t get Tetsuya Naito out of his head? You just proved to everyone how valuable I really am.
That was a great move. I’d give him 100 points for that. This is my home. New Japan… Japan… Don’t think you can do this to me and then just go back to your home.
Challengers keep coming, one after another. That’s to be expected. There’s nobody else in this world quite like me. It’s first come, first serve, they get at me. There’s already a long line. You’d better hurry if you want my attention.
But whether I’ll give them time or not, you know how it is. Tranquilo.
