Killer Kross has finally arrived in NXT. However, we will now call him Karrion Kross.
The former IMPACT! Superstar’s impending debut in WWE had been a hot topic for quite some time. Now that he’s arrived in the Black and Yellow brand, he’s sure to dominate and rise to the top.
Kross underwent a name change upon debuting on NXT. According to Fightful Select, WWE was not the party who picked Kross’s name for him and he himself was responsible for choosing the name “Karrion”.
The name is based on a few different words with a background that matches Kross’ persona. The first inspiration for the name comes from “Carrion”, meaning the decaying flesh of a dead animal.
The other one comes from a Greek & Latin mythological character by the name of “Kharon” who was the ferryman of Hades and carried the newly dead across the rivers. Interestingly, the report also states that Kross has a tattoo that reads “Kheiron” on his back.
This is some impeccable character work on Kross’s part. His efforts to make his character stand out is something that helps his overall image as a performer and an artist.
