The Miz Performance On Raw Accused Of ‘Racism’

WWE has a very dark past. Most of professional wrestling does. What is going on today is professional wrestling and the WWE trying to get away from their ugly past that includes things such as racism, sexism, and homophobia. It seems like not all things change though as The Miz is under the gun by some fans for what just happened. A Bobby Lashley Raw match featured an announcing botch.

The Miz and Morrison are actually both under fire due to a diss track performance music video that was aimed at Bad Bunny recently. For a quick recap, Bad Bunny is a Latino musician known worldwide and is now working in WWE to help bring a younger and more diverse crowd into the ratings.

Miz and Morrison showcased their new song “Hey Hey Hop Hop” on Raw this previous Monday (March 29th) and while it was over with some fans, other fans called the segment “racist” and “tacky”. Some fans even said it was in poor taste.

Now, personally, I don’t hold the right to say what someone should or shouldn’t be offended by, but I’m not seeing the issue here, myself. Speaking Spanish as a non-Spanish person isn’t racist, in my opinion. If I’m wrong, I’d love to hear more input on this. The song was tacky and awful, but canceling it? I’m not too sure.
