At WrestleMania 36, The Miz was initially scheduled to defend the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships alongside his tag team partner John Morrison.
However, in the lead-up to the show, it was revealed that The Miz was reportedly unwell on the day of tapings which forced WWE to change the three-way tag team Ladder Match into a regular Triple Threat Singles Ladder Match.
While speaking on Logan Paul’s impaulsive podcast recently, the former WWE Champion revealed that he did not have COVID-19 but was rather advised by the doctors to not compete at this year’s WrestleMania.
“No. It’s very good [that he does not have COVID-19], trust me. I got tested, I got tested negative. But yeah, the doctors deemed me medically unclear to wrestle at WrestleMania, so I go off what the doctors want us to do, so I wasn’t able to participate then.”
Last week’s edition of SmackDown, The Miz made his return to in-ring competition, as he lost the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships in a singles Triple Threat Match featuring Jey Uso and eventual winner Big E, who won the SmackDown Tag Titles once again for The New Day.
