The Revival reportedly wanted to work more for NXT before asking for release

The Revival is the talk of the town in the Internet Wrestling Community right now. They have asked for their release from WWE after their match on Monday.

On Wrestling Observer Live, Byran Alvarez discussed the topic of The Revival, where he said that while he could not confirm if The Revival asked for their release, he did know that they requested to work more in NXT. Here is what he said:

“The only thing I can tell you about The Revival right now is I don’t know if they asked from a release from WWE, but I do know they have been asking about doing more matches down in NXT.”

“I don’t know if that would mean going full-time back to NXT. Obviously, there are a lot of great tag teams in NXT. People love working house shows and people love working NXT shows. There are a lot of people I’m not saying it’s The Revival, but they had more fun in NXT. Obviously, you can tell by watching the main roster, but it could have just been that they asked to do more NXT TV shows or they did ask for their full release. Maybe they’ll get it, maybe they won’t. I don’t know.”

While it has been confirmed that The Revival have asked for their release, it is a wonder if WWE will let them go as soon as possible or not. We will have to wait and see what happens till then.

    Again… this is Harrison’s article.

A lot of great tag teams in NXT? Who? Besides UE and War Raiders, there are no good tag teams in NXT. Street Profits are a dead act. Barthel and Aichner are mostly a UK act. Forgotten Sons are going nowhere fast. I guess there’s Birch and Lorcan, who could have a great match I bet with the Revival, but WWE doesn’t seem to know what to do with them.

How has it been confirmed that they have asked for their release? Even Alvarez says he cannot confirm it, and he is one of the guys you usually quote as whatever he says is gospel truth.
